A shelf or cabinet is rarely thought of as a piece in its own right until it carries the same sculptural precision as the rest of the room. Kristina Dam Studio designs storage the same way it designs every object: as an exercise in restraint, where an architect's structure meets an artist's eye for form. Founded in Copenhagen in 2012, the studio builds shelving and storage meant to last for decades, not seasons.

The collection spans wall and floor shelves, cabinets, sideboards, coat racks and pedestals, including a modular system, Stack that let you build a configuration to fit your own wall or room. Two series showcase decorative objects, art and books in very different ways: the Japanese cabinets keep everything behind glass and puts everything on show, shelf by shelf. So do the open Foldable series. The Curved series keep everyday clutter close at hand. Pair it with the Curved boxes and your clutter is out of sight. Solid oak in a warm finish brings grain and warmth; steel adds structure and a cool, architectural edge.
